Review, Final and End of the Year
Review for the final involves lots of practice problems from the entire year. Here is a list of the topics learned this year. Below are the topics reviewed each day.
Probability
Probability is the study of what is likely to happen based on calculations of what could happen. The assessment for this unit is a project.
Homework every day is to finish that day's handout. I will be collecting one random handout on Monday, June 8th along with the project write-up.

Similarity and Right Triangle Trigonometry
Similarity is the study of proportionality - figures that have the same shape but different size. There are many applications of similarity (have you ever had a picture enlarged?) and the study of similarity brings you into other topics in mathematics such as trigonometry.

Coordinate Geometry
Coordinate geometry is a mixture of algebra, geometry and proofs. You will be writing proofs using algebraic formulas to prove things about geometric figures. All of the work will be worksheets or copies of problems from the Math 1 book. Each day the homework is to finish that day's handout.

The Plan until February Vacation
We have several things going on in the lead up to February break. We will start Chapter 4, the study of functions, and also do a quick unit on Area and Volume. The mix of Algebra and Geometry (and the Mid-Year Exam to look at retention of material) will help all of us determine best placement for next year - a process that happens right after February break.
